Yes, I relate.
So to keep the aspect of wonder, I think I need to take my time with taking in the knowledge.
Thank you/ Alicia
Alicia SamsonDeltagareHi Göran,
Thank you for your welcome and thoughtful response.
I live in Stockholm and I do understand and speak swedish. You will probably notice that I will switch from english to swedish from time to time. Sometimes I choose to communicate in english simply because I need a break from speaking a second language and also because I miss expressing my personality which comes through naturally when speaking my mother tongue.
Regarding my original query, I’d like to clarify it a bit further. My concern isn’t just about how much reading and research is required, but more about how to balance gaining intellectual knowledge with preserving a sense of wonder that yoga has given me.
In your experience, how do you recommend approaching this balance as a studwnt and a future teacher? Are there specific strategies or practices you’ve found helpful to ensure that the process of learning doesn’t overshadow the experiential and spiritual aspects of yoga?
Thank you for your guidance and support,
Warm regards
Alicia
Alicia SamsonDeltagareTack.
Alicia SamsonDeltagareHello everyone,
I started Course 1 this week so I’m fairly new to it. However, I’m not new to MediYoga. I first discovered it back in 2015/2016 during a challenging period in my life. I still remember coming home to my sambo saying, “I did a yoga session today called MediYoga and I feel like there’s something special about that form of yoga!”
I’ve been practising Kundalini yoga on and off since 2000, mainly because it resonates with my sense of spirituality. It has always provided me with a wonderful balance of discipline, focus, movement and a sense of wonder.
Now that I’ve started this course, I’m curious about how much reading and research I need to undertake (beyond the course material, which by the way, is perfectly suited to me) if my goal is to eventually teach. My concern is that too much information – though not to be confused with knowledge – might take away the sense of wonder that has been such a vital aspect of yoga for me throughout my life.
I would love to preserve that sense of wonder if and when I begin teaching.
Best wishes,
Alicia
